Hunter, NY – On October 17, 2102 the New York State Scenic Byways Advisory Board designated the mountain cloves of Route 23a, Platte Clove Road and Route 214 as New York State scenic byways.
The winding roads of Route 23a, Platte Clove Road and Route 214 have been enjoyed by many for their scenic views and enjoyable riding experiences. Hunter Mountain has coordinated many events such as the Hunter Mountain Jeep Summit, Harley Davidson motorcycle rides and the Volkwagon Eurocar Rally which incorporate these unique drives as a part of the overall event experience. “It is great to know that guests traveling to Hunter Mountain will now be enjoying a ride along an official New York State scenic byway system”, says Gerry Tschinkel, VP of Sales and Marketing at Hunter Mountain. “Half the fun is getting here!”
Route 23a and Route 214 are open year-round. Platte Clove road is a seasonal road closed from November 15th through April 15th.
