It’s going to be an exciting weekend at Whiteface Mountain, in Wilmington, N.Y. It’s all about the bicycle this weekend in Wilmington, as the community and the Olympic mountain celebrate the 4th Annual Wilmington Whiteface Bike Fest. Highlights include tomorrow’s Uphill Bike Race, an 11-mile race to the summit of Whiteface Mountain and the 3rd Annual Wilmington Whiteface 100k, a qualifier for the prestigious Leadville 100. Oak Mountain Summer Events

Summer has finally arrived and we are making the most of the sunny weather to bring about exciting changes to Oak Mountain. Our summer calendar is packed full of new events, our brand new custom-built mini golf course is up and ready for players, and our mountain bike trails are bound to get riders stoked. Swain Hosting Gravity Fest East This Weekend

Gravity East Mountain Bike Race Weekend June 14 - 16 - This weekend is the BIG Gravity East #3 race at Swain Resort! Lift-access MTB will be available on Friday, June 14 and Saturday, June 15 for both racers and non racers. The races will be held on Sunday, June 16 starting at noon. The race is open to any mountain bikers who want to come sign up, and spectators are always welcome. Lift rides for the general public will also be available for only $5. Read more...

Taste of Country Music Festival At Hunter Mountain This Weekend!

We just finished off another fantastic Mountain Jam. A little rain definitely didn’t stop the fun. Thousands of people joined us for some great music and festivities. Hunter Mountain to Host the First Annual Gran Fondo Catskills with Floyd Landis

The 2013 Hunter Mountain Cycling Series continues June 1 & 2 Hunter, NY – Hunter Mountain has partnered with Anthem Sports to host the Anthem Sports Hunter Mountain Cycling Series. Anthem Sports is one of the largest organizers of cycling races in the nation. “NYS 10-10-10” Ski Program Wins Excellence Award for Tourism Promotion

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — The Empire State Development Division of Tourism, which administers the I LOVE NY program, was a co-recipient along with Ski Areas of New York, Inc. (SANY) and the Olympic Regional Development Authority (ORDA) of the 2013 Tourism Excellence Award for Tourism Promotion at the 7th Annual I LOVE NEW YORK Empire State Tourism Conference held at the Conference & Events Center in Niagara Falls on May 2nd. The co-recipients were selected by an independent judging panel of the New York State Travel & Vacation Association (NYSTVA, conference co-host), in recognition of their collaborative “NYS 10-10-10” program to promote skiing in New York State. Titus Mountain Family Ski Center Sweetens The Pot!

As winter turns to spring, most North American ski resorts seek creative ways to keep visitors coming to their mountains. Titus Mountain Family Ski Center, located in northern New York State, is no exception. For inspiration, they only needed to look just across the Canadian border into the province of Quebec.

Quebec produces over 70% of the world’s maple syrup and the province has many maple producers . . . a number of whom are located at Quebec ski areas. Dene Savage, Titus Mountain Marketing Director, explains: “Ski areas in the northeastern U.S. & eastern Canada typically have large populations of beautiful sugar maples. They’re really one of the most common trees found on the lower elevations of most mountains. If you want to make maple syrup, it’s good to go where the trees are . . . and ski areas can be extra-good, with well-drained soil and a slope to facilitate the sap collection process.”
