ROSELAND WATERPARK OPENING DAY OF 13TH SEASON, SATURDAY, JUNE 22ND

Canandaigua, NY (June 19, 2013) – Roseland Waterpark will leap into summer celebrating its 13h season on Saturday, June 22nd. Marketing Director, Drew Broderick, remarked, “We’re excited that Opening Day is almost here. Our staff has done a great job of getting Roseland Waterpark ready to go for Saturday”. For adult guests, Roseland Waterpark is a beautifully landscaped oasis, a stone’s throw from Canandaigua Lake, and if you are sitting by the Wave Pool listening to the gently, lapping waves you might just think you are on a remote island in the Caribbean. It’s going to be an exciting weekend at Whiteface Mountain, in Wilmington, N.Y. It’s all about the bicycle this weekend in Wilmington, as the community and the Olympic mountain celebrate the 4th Annual Wilmington Whiteface Bike Fest. Highlights include tomorrow’s Uphill Bike Race, an 11-mile race to the summit of Whiteface Mountain and the 3rd Annual Wilmington Whiteface 100k, a qualifier for the prestigious Leadville 100. Swain Hosting Gravity Fest East This Weekend

Gravity East Mountain Bike Race Weekend June 14 - 16 - This weekend is the BIG Gravity East #3 race at Swain Resort! Lift-access MTB will be available on Friday, June 14 and Saturday, June 15 for both racers and non racers. The races will be held on Sunday, June 16 starting at noon. “NYS 10-10-10” Ski Program Wins Excellence Award for Tourism Promotion

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — The Empire State Development Division of Tourism, which administers the I LOVE NY program, was a co-recipient along with Ski Areas of New York, Inc. (SANY) and the Olympic Regional Development Authority (ORDA) of the 2013 Tourism Excellence Award for Tourism Promotion at the 7th Annual I LOVE NEW YORK Empire State Tourism Conference held at the Conference & Events Center in Niagara Falls on May 2nd. The co-recipients were selected by an independent judging panel of the New York State Travel & Vacation Association (NYSTVA, conference co-host), in recognition of their collaborative “NYS 10-10-10” program to promote skiing in New York State. Titus Mountain Family Ski Center Sweetens The Pot!

As winter turns to spring, most North American ski resorts seek creative ways to keep visitors coming to their mountains. Titus Mountain Family Ski Center, located in northern New York State, is no exception. For inspiration, they only needed to look just across the Canadian border into the province of Quebec.

Quebec produces over 70% of the world’s maple syrup and the province has many maple producers . . . a number of whom are located at Quebec ski areas. Dene Savage, Titus Mountain Marketing Director, explains: “Ski areas in the northeastern U.S. & eastern Canada typically have large populations of beautiful sugar maples. They’re really one of the most common trees found on the lower elevations of most mountains. If you want to make maple syrup, it’s good to go where the trees are . . . and ski areas can be extra-good, with well-drained soil and a slope to facilitate the sap collection process.”
