Bristol Mountain to Host Elite Olympic Training Camp with Gold Medalist Chris Lillis and the U.S. Ski Team
CANANDAIGUA, New York (August 2, 2024) - Bristol Mountain is proud to announce the hosting of the Project Gold Freestyle Aerial Camp at the Greater Rochester Amateur Athletic Federation (GRAAF) Water Ramp freestyle jumping facility on August 3 and 4, 2024. This highly anticipated event will feature Olympic Gold Medalist Chris Lillis alongside coaches from the U.S. Ski Team, including Olympic Bronze Medalist Vladimir Lebedev, to train the next generation of Olympic hopefuls from the Eastern USA, including many from Rochester, NY and the Bristol Mountain Freestyle Team.
The invitational camp is designed to target top development level Freestyle Aerial skiers, setting their sights on the Winter Olympics in 2034, to be held in Park City, Utah. With a focus on training and inspiring young athletes, the camp represents a unique opportunity for future Olympians to learn from the very best in the sport.
The GRAAF water ramp at Bristol Mountain stands out as one of the premier training facilities in the United States. It was designed to allow skiers to practice complex inverted jumps safely over water, offering optimal training conditions for high-level athletes.
Bristol Mountain's Freestyle program has a storied success rate at the Olympic level, having produced four athletes who have represented Team USA at the Games, most notably Chris Lillis, who earned a Gold Medal in Beijing. The selection of Bristol Mountain by the U.S. Ski Team as the camp location underscores the facility's world-class status and its contribution to the sport of freestyle skiing.
