As you can no doubt see from outside your window, the weather has taken a quick turn towards spring-like conditions. We decided to keep the mountain closed Tuesday through Thursday of this week to preserve our snow through the rain but plan to reopen tomorrow, Friday, March 8th from 9am-4pm. We plan to open with the Meadows Triple and Catamount Quad in the morning and will open the Ridge Quad and the NY side of the mountain later in the day after our groomers have had a chance to rebuild the trails. We will stay open through the weekend with operating hours of 8:30am-4pm. The Tubing park will be open regular hours this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for its last weekend of operations.
Given the current weather forecasts and our desire to keep this season going as long as possible, our current plans are to have this Friday, March 8th be our last day of weekday operations for the season. Night skiing has unfortunately concluded for the rest of the season as well, effective today. This was not an easy decision to make but this will help us preserve our snow in order to keep going on weekends as long as possible. We don’t want anyone to miss out on the fun still to be had, so for the remainder of the 23/24 season, all season passes will be valid whenever we are operating. This means Locals Passes, Weekday Passes, and Night Passses are valid at any time here at Catamount - no need to stop in customer service as your passes have automatically been adjusted to allow you to ski during any operating times.
We still have a bunch of fun events coming up this month. This Saturday, March 9th we will be hosting our 2nd annual Cardboard Classic Sled Race - if you want to participate, please register by the end of day today! We also have a Spring Beer Tasting on the back patio from 12pm-4pm on Saturday and SNO-GO will be here with free demos on Saturday and Sunday! For passholders we will be holding our Season Passholder Party from 3pm-5pm in Fat Cat on March 16th and Sunday the 17th will be our Shamrock Scavenger Hunt and the last Rail Jam of the season!
There’s still a chance for some snow - maybe Mother Nature will decide to cut us a break and give us another March storm like we had last year, but in the meantime our crews are going to work as hard as possible to preserve our snow to get you all some more weekend fun this month. Also, don’t forget to plan ahead for next season with 24/25 Season Passes on sale now, with best pricing available through March 31st.
Stay tuned to our Mountain Report for any further updates. We hope to see you out on the mountain as we continue to hold on to winter as long as we can!
